Why I Started DBR Bookkeeping
At first glance, the jump from music to bookkeeping might seem unusual.
But for me, it made perfect sense.
My name is Dr. Bryan Raya, and I founded DBR Bookkeeping not just because I understand how bookkeeping and QuickBooks Online work—but because I understand what it's like to build something from the ground up.
I’ve always been fascinated by the relationship between money, people, and systems. In fact, my doctoral research and dissertation was focused on the financial trends of adult community bands. I explored how organizations that blend art, community, and passion manage their finances—successfully or not.
And that’s when it clicked for me.

While music has always been a major part of my life, I began to realize something important: many of the musicians, creatives, and small business owners I was surrounded by were incredible at their craft, but struggling with their finances.
